                      First derivative of spectra
                      The present example shows how minerals can be sorted with the Chemical Imaging System HELIOS EC3. The first image (top left) shows two minerals that cannot be definitely seperated. But looking to the Short Wave Infrared (SWIR) region it can be seen that there are significant differences on the intensity. With a further look to the first derivative of the spectra, these differences become more concisely. HELIOS EC3 defines significant regions of the spectra with "Red", "Green" and "Blue" (RGB). On the last image (bottom right) the output of HELIOS EC3 can be seen. Consequently HELIOS EC3 can now be integrated like a standard color line scan camera. (more)
